Being an entrepreneur is exciting. It has its challenges and opportunities. Sometimes you win, and sometimes things do not work out.

I have been very fortunate over the past 10 years. Most of the time things worked out very well. Why they worked out at certain times was a mystery to me, and reinforced my belief in a benevolent God. In all cases the experience was fun.

After eight years I have decided to fold up a venture that did not work out as a business. Creative Time was one of those great concepts that when you hear it you just say 'let's do it'. The product, Marble Art, was a kids craft toy that I believe is also a great tool for trainers. Mark Fornataro, the product's inventor, would be a steal for any company. Marble Art eventually was a casualty of the post 9/11 cut backs, and while we hung on hoping things would change we never were able to turn it around. The message here is that while it did not work out, it was not a loser. Concepts that bring you joy just by trying are always a winner. The moral of the story, find something you believe in, give it your best shot, have fun with it, and no matter what happens you will come out with a win.
